What does ‘self’ truly mean in a culture where self-worth is on sale and material assets set the rules of power? Do we still believe we are enough as we are — that our romantic or business success doesn’t depend on how well our cheekbones sit on our faces, or whether our bottoms are plump or skinny enough to fit a Tesla seat?
