MiA was living in Nice on the French Riviera when she felt a calling to move to Paris. Unsure what it meant at all, she found a photographer in Paris via Instagram and asked if he would host her and take pictures. He agreed — and not only that, he turned out to be a fashion photographer with a legacy that included Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer, Natalia Vodianova, and Iggy Pop. He also introduced her to her future (now ex) boyfriend, who would later become one of her inspirations for the photo series. Life is unpredictable. And so are we.
